A modern flyover located at the Hoang Quoc Viet and Nguyen Van Huyen intersection, with a total investment of VND560 billion (US$24.08 million), in Hanoi was opened to traffic on August 28.
The building of the flyover aims to widen the narrow section on Nguyen Van Huyen street, thereby increasing traffic capacity, reducing congestion, and facilitating vehicles moving through belt roads No.2 and No.3.
The flyover also contributes to improving the transportation network as well as promoting socio-economic development in the districts of Cau Giay, Tay Ho and Bac Tu Liem.
Work on the flyover began on October 2019. Measuring 278m long and 16m wide, with four lanes (two in each direction), the flyover would clear the traffic bottleneck on Nguyen Van Huyen street which has existed since 1997.
At the inauguration ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen The Hung said that this is one of the city’s key projects which plays an important role in the capital city’s transport infrastructure.
