A new inner-city flyover inaugurated in Hanoi
On May 29, Hanoi People’s Committee held ground-breaking ceremony to kick off construction of a flyover connecting O Dong Mac and Nguyen Khoai aiming to ease traffic congestion on the Ring Road 1 while ensuring traffic flow for vehicles from Tran Khat Chan street to Nguyen Khoai dyke.

Director of the municipal Department of Transport Vu Van Vien said that the steel flyover, with a length of 232 metres and width of 12 metres, will be built at a total cost of 168 billion VND (7.5 million USD).
Speaking at the ground-breaking ceremony, Chairman of Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung hailed efforts made by relevant units in completing procedures to start work on the flyover, making contributions to reducing traffic jam in one of the most important roads in the city.
He asked the units to speed up the construction and ensure safety and quality, adding that the construction department needs to continue studying measures to assure traffic flow on the Ring Road 1 and other roads in the city.
Hoang Minh Giam-Nguyen Chanh flyover

Earlier, Hoang Minh Giam-Nguyen Chanh flyover, the capital city’s eighth steel flyover, was opened to traffic after five years of construction. The flyover spans a length of 595.7 metres with two nine-metre lanes, allowing vehicles to run at speeds of up to 40km per hour.
The project was under the supervision of Thang Long Corporation. With a total investment of 148 billion VND (6.6 million USD), it used the remaining capital of Ring Road No.3’s second period with the support of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). It is expected to ease traffic congestion at the Trung Hoa intersection of Cau Giay District.
