The “queen” Phalaenopsis shows charming beauty on Hanoi’s streets

Phalaenopsis orchid is a favorite flower for many people because it is a beautiful and long vase life.

Phalaenopsis, commonly known as moth orchids, is a beautiful flower embodying good fortune and good luck to the homeowner, which is often used to decorate houses on the traditional New Year days in Vietnam.

Phalaenopsis orchids likened to the “queen” of flowers and costing up to “hundreds of millions” dong, have been displayed on many streets in Hanoi during Tet holiday.

Numerous pots of Phalaenopsis orchids have been brought by gardeners from Da Lat to Hanoi.

 On Co Linh Street in Long Bien District of Hanoi, orchid garden owners have been busy sending pots of Phalaenopsis orchid to different customers across the city.

 Vu Thuy Duong, an owner of Phalaenopsis orchid shop on Co Linh Street, said: “Since the beginning of the year, gardeners have adjusted Phalaenopsis stocking up plan due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.”

 “Phalaenopsis orchids on beautiful and unique wooden trunks cost around VND150 million (US$6,585). If a customer buys it, there will be an artist to arrange flowers at home to the customer's request,” Duong added.

Phalaenopsis orchid is a favorite flower for many people because it is a beautiful and long vase life. It is diverse in color, so it is easy to be mixed with other flower varieties to create brilliant ornamental plant pots. 

Pots of colorful Phalaenopsis orchids are waiting to be bought for Tet displaying.

 Besides diverse varieties, Phalaenopsis orchid has different sizes. Small pots with few branches are suitable for small houses.
