Huong Pagoda reopens
Tourists flock to renown Huong Pagoda from 1am on the first day of Huong Pagoda Festival on March 13.
Although the Huong Pagoda Festival is scheduled to open at 3am on March 13, many visitors and Buddhists had already gathered at the place very early, around 1 o’clock in the morning.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, relics, temples, religious establishments in the capital had to shut down as a measure to prevent the spread of corona virus since February 16. |

Earlier, in an online meeting on the prevention of the Covid-19 pandemic, the vice chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee- Mr. Chu Xuan Dung, agreed with the request of the My Duc district, Hanoi to reopen the Huong Pagoda from March 13. The festival, however, should be held ensuring the enforcement of safety measures. |

In the very early morning on the first days of Huong pagoda festival, people have been flocking to the sacred place, where the greatest Buddhist festival in the north of Vietnam is held, the most important in the spiritual life of Vietnamese people, and Vietnamese Buddhists in particular. |

“I am so happy as Huong Pagoda can open today. Local authorities had already urged us to comply with pandemic prevention regulations a few days ago. I will try my best in implementing pandemic prevention in order to keep myself and community safe from coronavirus,” said Mr. Trinh Xuan Bay, 87, a who writes sinogram petitions for visitors in to Huong Pagoda. |
