Hanoi on first day of enforcing social distancing at eateries, bars

Many people have not complied with the regulation on keeping a safe distance.

Most owners of restaurants and cafes and their customers in Hanoi have obeyed the enforcement of social distancing at eateries and bars from August 19. 

In Nga Tu So ward, Dong Da district, restaurants, coffee and sidewalk tea shops are request customers to keep the minimum distance of one meter among them, measuring their body temperature and giving them hand sanitizer.

 On Phung Hung street, Hoan Kiem district, thanks to the local government's active communication work, vendors at sidewalk tea shops, restaurants and cafes all wear face masks and ensure a safe distance. 

 Authorities conduct regular patrol to detect anti-Covid measure flouters, asking them to abide by the regulations such as wearing face masks. Earlier, Standing Vice Chairman of the city People's Committee Nguyen Van Suu demanded more forces be mobilized to enforce social distancing at restaurants and pubs.

 The owner of a restaurant in Nga Tu So ward is signing a commitment to Covid-19 preventive measures imposed by the city People's Committee.

 Police focus on eateries where potential risk of infection is implicit. The enforcement of hand disinfection is their primary task.

 However, many eateries on Phung Hung street still ignore social distancing measures.

 Deputy Chief of Public Security of Quan Thanh ward Bui Trong Phuc said that the functional forces of the ward required service providers to sign commitment papers on complying with the regulations.

 Also, in Ba Dinh district, at some restaurants and cafes on Van Bao street, Linh Lang street, Thanh Cong ward, Nguyen Chi Thanh street, and around Ngoc Khanh lake, many people are not masking up in public places, and not complying with the regulation on keeping a safe distance.

 Customers at a sidewalk tea shop beside Ngoc Khanh lake, Ba Dinh district are not stay one meter away from each other.

  Social distancing measures are flouted at a restaurant on Van Tien Dung street, Bac Tu Liem district.

 The coffee shop on Ham Nghi street, Nam Tu Liem district, ensures social distancing, but the shop owner does not measure customers’ body temperature or disinfect their hands.
