Hanoi: Men rushed to have hair-cut before barbershops close

Hair salons and sidewalk barbershop were over-crowded after Hanoi issued an order on the business suspension to curb coronavirus spread.

Hanoi people rushed to hair salons and beauty parlors for hair dressing before these services were closed in compliance with  directive of the Hanoi People's Committee Chu Ngoc Anh on some measures to contain the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic whose threat mounts in the city.

Under the new directive, signed by Hanoi mayor Chu Ngoc Anh, all restaurants and eateries with sit-down table service; hair salons and beauty parlors in the city have to be shut from 12:00 am on May 25.  

Nearly 12 o'clock at noon on May 25, almost hair salons and beauty parlors were about to close with unknown date of reopening. 

As noted by reporters from Kinh te & Do thi, the sidewalk barbershops on pavement in Thai Thinh street, Dong Da district, were packed with male clients waiting to get their hair done. 

Hair washing service also draw a large number of customers on the morning of May 25. 
Similar to the sidewalk barbershops, modern hair salons in the city were also over-loaded. The photo was captured at a hair salon in To Hieu street, Cau Giay district.

Parents brought children to a hair salon in To Hieu street, patiently waited for their kids’ turn to have  hair-cuts.
