Hanoi’s streets, places of interest, sightseeing spots, and travel attractions are being refurbished, in anticipation of the influx of foreign tourists.

In the days ensuing March 15 - the day marked a milestone as the country fully opens its doors to international tourism after a two-year hiatus, Hanoi’s urban management forces are extremely busy.

Shop-owner, restaurant managers and residents in Hanoi's Old Quarter Area are asked to clean and adorn their premises, inside and out, ready to serve the most demanding internationals.
Eighteen wards in Hoan Kiem District simultaneously launched a campaign to embellish the capital city.

Residents in Hanoi's Old Quarter Area are urged to clean, decorate sidewalks and streets, preparing for exciting tourism events ahead.
The urban inspection team from Hang Gai Ward, Hoan Kiem District reminded residents not to park their motorbikes in a disorderly manner or perform acts that encroach on sidewalks and roadways, obstructing public traffic.
People are asked not to hang advertorial billboards in the wrong place.
Unsightly billboards are also removed.
The roadbeds along Hanoi’s old streets of Hang Bong, Hang Gai, Hang Manh, and Ma May are cleaned by street sweepers.
Senior Lieutenant Bui Ngoc Hoang from Police Station of Hang Trong Ward, Hoan Kiem District said that the ward owns quite a few relic sites and tourist attraction such as St. Joseph’s Cathedral, Hoan Kiem pedestrian zones and Ba Da Pagoda, among others. Therefore, to prepare to welcome international tourists, the functional forces have mobilized the people to clean and decorate the sidewalks to meet the criteria of aesthetics and safety for pedestrians.
The sidewalk of Co Tan Street (Trang Tien Ward, Hoan Kiem District) is absolutely airy, clean, and beautiful with lush green ancient trees and ornamental shrubs.
All things are ready for welcoming international visitors to the gorgeous charming capital city.
