The National Assembly (NA) today [April 8] approved the appointment of two new deputy prime ministers and 12 ministers/ministerial-level positions with an endorsement of 455 out of 459 deputies present.
Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai

Le Minh Khai, born 1964 in the southern province of Bac Lieu, has a master degree in Audit Accounting. Khai is currently member of the 13th Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and deputy of the 14th National Assembly.
He held the positions of Deputy Auditor General of the State Audit Office of Vietnam for the 2007-2014 period, Chairman of the Bac Lieu Provincial People's Committee and Secretary of the Bac Lieu Provincial Party Committee.
In October 2017, Khai was appointed Inspector General of the Government Inspectorate and then the Secretary of the Party Committee of the Government Inspectorate for the 2015-2020 period.

Le Van Thanh, born 1962 in the northern city of Haiphong, is member of the 13th Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and Secretary of the municipal Party Committee. He was the director of Haiphong Cement company before being appointed Vice Chairman of Haiphong People’s Committee and other municipal positions.

Lieutenant General Phan Van Giang was born in 1960 in the northern province of Nam Dinh. He is member of the 13th Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and held the positions of Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army and Deputy Minister of National Defence.

Tra was Vice Minister of Home Affairs and Deputy Head of the Party Central Committee’s Organization Commission.

Lenh held the position of Vice Chairman and General Secretary of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee.

Nghi was Vice Minister of Construction, and upon being designated minister, he is the youngest member in the new government.
