Vietnam Airlines to provide in-flight internet services

On March 22, Vietnam Airlines and Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to cooperate in providing in-flight internet services. Vietnam Airlines will provide internet services on all domestic and international flights, enhancing customer experience and services on each flight segment. Both sides also launched the VNA Discovery mobile application to realize this cooperation agreement.

Over 34 million workers struggle to access social policies

More than 34 million Vietnamese workers in the informal sector lack information on employment, which hinders their ability to access and benefit from social policies, according to the draft revision of the Law on Employment by the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs. Vietnam currently has 52.1 million workers, of which about 17.5 million are enrolled in social insurance and have relevant information.

Huawei aims to establish a 5G Innovation Center in Vietnam

Huawei has proposed the establishment of a 5G Innovation Center in Vietnam to support the construction of the best 5G network in the shortest possible time. The Deputy Chairman of Huawei stated during a meeting with the leadership of the Ministry of Information and Communications on March 22. The Chinese company hopes to assist Vietnam in commercializing 5G through its global deployment experience, introducing 5G testing standards and lab facilities, and supporting digital workforce training in Vietnam.

Earth Hour 2024 campaign takes place tonight

The Earth Hour 2024 campaign, which culminates in turning off lights for one hour from 8:30 pm to 9:30 pm, will be held on the evening of March 23. This is the 16th consecutive year that the Ministry of Industry and Trade has led the Earth Hour campaign in Vietnam. It is an annual international event initiated by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) in 2007, with Vietnam officially participating in 2009.

A number of activities have been organized this March in response to the campaign, such as online competitions to learn about energy saving and efficient use, organized on the website of the National Program for Energy Efficiency and Conservation, and a running event.
