Vietnam sixth happiest country in Asia

Vietnam is ranked 54th globally and 6th in Asia in terms of people's happiness in the World Happiness Report 2024. The country scored 6,043 points, moving up 11 places in the global rankings compared to 2023. Meanwhile, Singapore maintained its second place in the Asian ranking. The report, released on International Happiness Day (March 20), is based on global survey data from people in more than 140 countries and territories who rated their quality of life for the 2021-2023 period.

Pacific Airlines has US$220 million debt forgiven

At a meeting with the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam on March 19, Pacific Airlines reported on its operational situation, returned all leased aircraft and had its debt forgiven, according to Tuoi Tre newspaper. In particular, it was able to persuade the aircraft owners to write off a US$220 million debt. Pacific Airlines is looking for new investors. After successful negotiations with the aircraft owners, Pacific Airlines leased three aircraft from Vietnam Airlines to maintain its operations and operating license.

10 outstanding young Vietnamese faces in 2023 announced

On March 20, the Communist Youth Union announced 10 excellent young Vietnamese faces and nine promising young Vietnamese in 2023. The candidates were selected based on their achievements in their respective fields, as well as their influence on young people. Some prominent names include Dinh Cao Son, a student at Hanoi University of Education; Nguyen Xuan Luc, CEO of WATA Group Joint Stock Company; Doctor Ngo Quoc Duy from K Hospital and others.

Seminars on green energy see strong attendance from  large foreign enterprises
Envision Group (China), IHI and Maeda (Japan), and Siemens (Germany) are expected to participate in a workshop on green energy, green hydrogen and carbon-neutral industrial park in the south-central province of Ninh Thuan in April 2024, according to the provincial People's Committee. In particular, Envision Group will share implementation experience and international standards on green hydrogen projects and net-zero industrial parks; Maeda Group and IHI will provide a research report on the green hydrogen production project from small-scale pumped storage hydropower and solar power; Siemens Group will share technology information and equipment for green hydrogen and ammonia production.

Germany needs more than 300,000 healthcare workers

Germany is expected to recruit more than 300,000 medical staff to work in hospitals and nursing homes as it faces a serious shortage of nursing staff. This information was provided by Nguyen Hoang Tien, Director of Clevermann Education Development, announcing the implementation of the Avita project in Vietnam between Clevermann and Viettalents GmbH (Germany). This project aims to recruit healthcare professionals from Vietnam to work in Germany.
