Visiting the first graffiti village in Hanoi

The village has developed a project of painting 20 graffitis depicting the village life, local people, veggies, among others, which are attached to the region`s cultural and historical timeline.
The village of Chu Xa in Gia Lam district has grown from a sleepy agriculture hamlet to a promising tourism destination in the coming time thanks to its several colorful mural paintings. Chu Xa is the first village in Hanoi taking this initiative to develop tourism.



As visitors have been flocking to watch mural paintings in Tam Thanh village in Danang, Ghenh Yen, Binh Hai in Quang Ngai province and the Small Island of Ly Son, among other across Vietnam, another graffiti village has emerged in Hanoi and will leave travelers with a vivid impression of the depictions.



The village located along the Red River bank is well-known for growing and providing fresh veggies for Hanoi city and the neighboring provinces. 



Recently, the village has developed a project of painting 20 graffitis depicting the village life, local people, veggies, among others, which are attached to the region's cultural and historical timeline. 



A group of seven young artists has devoted to the work for around two months. 



A graffiti often takes from three to four days to be painted depending mainly on weather and size. These paintings can stay for 10 years provided that they are well preserved. 



The local people said they are happy and proud of the new lively appearance of the village. 



The buffalo, which is a so familiar animal to the farmer, is also  A theme of the graffiti. All murals in Chu Xa village are colorful and radiant. 


The project is invested by an enterprise with a total expenditure of VND300 million (US$12,898).
