This event is the culmination of a collaborative project between Phu Xuyen District and the University of Industrial Fine Arts.

The exhibition “Young Creativity in Phu Xuyen Craft Materials” is running from January 15 to 21 at the Hanoi Museum, marrying traditional crafts with creativity and integration.

As part of the initiative, students will have the opportunity to work as interns in renowned artisan villages such as Chuyen My, which specializes in mother-of-pearl inlay, Phu Tuc in bamboo and rattan weaving, Xuan La in traditional toy making, and others. This hands-on experience allows students to learn traditional techniques while contributing modern designs that respond to current needs.

Speaking at the event's opening ceremony on January 15, Le Van Binh, Chairman of the Phu Xuyen District People's Committee, emphasized that the products on display demonstrate how the fusion of traditional excellence with youthful creativity can create new value in both domestic and international markets. He added that the exhibition provides a platform for artisans, skilled workers and local businesses to learn and engage with modern design trends.

He added that the exhibition plays a critical role in preserving, promoting and developing the rich heritage of traditional trades in Phu Xuyen District and throughout Hanoi.

"We hope that working with art universities will help Phu Xuyen's handicrafts to break away from conventional paths, effectively utilize resources, improve designs, and increase product value. This is a major step for our craft villages in preserving cultural heritage and establishing a brand on the global handicraft map," Binh said.
