Ba Dinh District on January 16 launched its "Data Management, Integration, and Analysis Center," representing an important step in its ongoing digital transformation efforts. The center is expected to increase the efficiency, transparency, and responsiveness of government, while improving public services for residents and businesses throughout the district.

The opening ceremony, held at the Ba Dinh District headquarters, was attended by officials from the Ministry of Information and Communications, city departments and district leaders.

The importance of collaboration and innovation in achieving Hanoi's broader smart city development goals was highlighted at the launch ceremony.

Ta Nam Chien, Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee, emphasized the strategic importance of the center. "It is an important tool for improving transparency, efficiency and accuracy in public services. It demonstrates our commitment to modernizing government and making life better for our residents," he said.

Chien also reflected on the district's accomplishments in 2024, noting that it was a year of both challenges and significant performances. "Ba Dinh successfully achieved all 26 socio-economic targets set for the year, with nine of them exceeding expectations. So far this term, we have achieved 128 targets, with 22 of them exceeding their initial benchmarks," he said.

The Data Management and Analysis Center consolidates information from multiple sources, including citywide systems and local applications, into a centralized platform. This enables more informed decision-making in critical areas such as economic planning, cultural development, environmental management, and public safety.

Chien highlighted the district's progress in adopting technology and innovation. "Ba Dinh has led by example in digital transformation, becoming one of the first districts to implement 100% digital document signing since May 2022. We have also actively digitized administrative files and civil records," he said.

The district has continued to integrate advanced technologies into public management, including AI-powered security cameras and IoT-enabled LED streetlights. These initiatives not only improve safety and energy efficiency, but also contribute to the district's vision of a sustainable urban environment.

Ba Dinh achieved an economic growth rate of 12.8% in 2024, with budget revenues exceeding 111% of the annual estimate. Public investment also made significant progress, with disbursements for construction projects reaching nearly 300% of the target.

Education and administrative reform have been key priorities, with the district ranking second among Hanoi's 30 districts in education and training for two consecutive years, and sixth in administrative reform. Public security and social order have remained stable, ensuring that all major national and municipal events have been held safely in Ba Dinh.

Urban development has also been a focus. In 2024, the district introduced new initiatives such as the pedestrianized commercial area around Ngoc Khanh Lake and further developed the Ngoc Island, Ngu Xa culinary street. These projects have helped attract both domestic and international visitors while preserving the district's cultural and historical identity.

Chien emphasized that the center's success depends on high-quality data. "Accurate, complete, and regularly updated data is essential for this center to realize its potential. Achieving this requires interdepartmental collaboration and continued investment in technology and training," he said.

He also called on all stakeholders, including residents, to support the District's efforts to use data and technology for the greater good. "This center represents not just a technological upgrade, but a vision for the future of our district, a future built on innovation, transparency, and better services for all," Chien concluded.

Following the ceremony, the delegates toured the new facility to get a first-hand perspective of its capabilities and future applications. District leaders thanked the Ministry of Information and Communications, city officials, and other stakeholders for their support in making the project a reality.

The new center is a significant step forward in Ba Dinh's mission to become a model for modern, smart city management in Vietnam.
