With love and dedication for hand embroidery, a craftswoman exports Hanoi’s traditional craft products to the US and European countries.
Hand embroidery is one of Hanoi’s traditional craft that has existed for centuries, but is now struggling for survival. However, a craftswoman has now found a way to keep the tradition alive.
Born and raised in the famous embroidery village of Thuong Lam, My Duc district, Mrs. Ly Nguyen got familiar with embroidery hoops and threads since she was a young girl.
Her love and dedication for hand embroidery motivates the craftswoman to create unique designs that help promote the craft to both domestic and international customers.
Mrs. Ly Nguyen later found the Binh Minh Embroidery Garment Company to realize her ambition of taking Hanoi’s hand embroidery to international markets, including door curtains, mattress, blanket, paintings, among others.
To date, over 80% of Binh Minh products are exported, mainly to the US or Europe.
