The OCOP products displayed include farm produce, handicrafts, Hanoi and other provinces’ street food, such as Ca Mau crab, Buon Me Thuot coffee, Quang Tri essential oils, Kim Cuong black garlic, Thai Nguyen tea, Tam Dao honey, among others.

Nguyen Van Chi, director of the Hanoi Agriculture and Rural Development Department, said that all the products in the fair have traceable origin and ensure food safety.

Besides, Hanoi’s culinary specialties are also showcased at the fair, including Phu Thuong sticky rice, Thanh Tri rice rolls, Uoc Le spring rolls, among others, together with a culinary space. Many other cultural programs have been taking place at the fair.

The event, which will run until October 13, is deployed under the 2018 – 2020 OCOP program signed by Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue in May 2018.

Accordingly, the OCOP program looks to develop the rural economy by harnessing craft villages potential and adding values. It is considered as one of the measures and tasks of the national target program on rural area modernization.

The program focuses on promoting commercialization of advantaged agricultural, non-agricultural and service products at each locality, which will be realized by private economic sectors including businesses and production households and collective economy.
