Vietnam “instant noddle ATM” helps needy people in Covid-19 time
One hundred thousand of packs of instant noodle and more than 30,000 eggs are handed out for free to help needy people in Covid-19 time.
Dr. Hoang Tuan, a physician at the National Burn Institute, and a number of sponsors have launched a “noodle ATM” under the “Join hands to repel Covid-19” program to help those who can’t afford to buy food due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
In the afternoon of April 17, the first “noodle ATM” point was launched in Hoang Quoc Viet street, Cau Giay district. The "noodle ATM" is launched after many rice dispensers or more popularly known as "rice ATM" have been operated across Vietnam to help underprivileged people in hardship. |
Dr. Hoang Tuan said that this is a joint action against the Covid-19 pandemic. He hopes to give a hand to stabilize lives of many people in the difficult period. |
This free noodle delivery point will provide 100,000 packs of instant noodle and more than 30,000 eggs. |
Living in Mai Dich ward, Cau Giay district, Nguyen Thi Tuy, a self-employed worker, arrived early to queue and receive packs of noodle, after being told about the charity program. |
Tuan’s friends donate noodles, eggs and protective equipment to help those like Tuy. |
Each person will receive 10 packs of instant noodles and 10 eggs or more depending on the circumstances. This “noodle ATM" works from 8am to 6pm every day. |
People will be disinfected in a sanitization chamber before being given the donations. The charity staff are also equipped with antibacterial masks, gloves, and face masks to strictly comply with the guidelines for the disease prevention. |
People who come to receive free noodles have their personal information recorded. |
