The newest cases has brought the country’s tally to 3,816, including 2,657 patients have recovered.

On May 14, Bac Ninh reported 46 cases, mostly in Thuan Thanh District. Hanoi ranked second with 27, including a doctor working at the National Lung Hospital. Bac Giang detected 16 cases, mainly in SJ Tech Vietnam Co., Ltd in Van Trung Industrial Park (IP), Viet Yen District.

Given rising infections in industrial parks, Bac Giang has so far tested more than 60,000 workers in 120 companies in Van Trung IP.

On the same day, Bac Giang launched a digital map to provide information on the pandemic in the most convenient way for online users at https://covidmaps.bacgiang.gov.vn; https://bandodichte.bacgiang.gov.vn. The map will update news on isolated zones, quarantine facilities, hospitals, and lists of patients and their travel history. This is the first map of its kind launched in Vietnam.

On the day, Associate Prof. Tran Dac Phu warned Vietnam of surging infections at industrial parks if no tougher measures are taken.

The number of people under quarantine reached 83,415, including 1,433 at hospitals, 34,252 at state-run quarantine centers, and the remaining at home and lodging facilities.
