The German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) in Hanoi will donate the 18 sensors with a view to improving air quality monitoring in the city.

The city’s Department of Natural Resources and Environment will calibrate the sensors in accordance with the city’s other air quality monitoring stations to ensure accurate data.

The air quality data will be made public on the site http://moitruongthudo.vn, smartphone applications and electronic boards in public areas in Hoan Kiem district once the sensors come into stable operation.

Earlier, on July 16, the Embassy of France in Hanoi inaugurated an air quality monitoring station at its compound. This station together with other 10 installed citywide provides data for thorough researches on air pollution as well as identifying the level of pollution and causes.
