Hanoi to cooperate with Ireland in various fields

On September 20, the Deputy Secretary of Hanoi’s Party Committee has a meeting with Irish Ambassador to Vietnam – Mrs. Cait Moran.

At the meeting, the Deputy Secretary of Hanoi’s Party Committee Ngo Thanh Hang briefed Mrs. Cait Moran on Hanoi’s socio-economic situation in recent years. At the same time, Mrs. Ngo Thanh Hang expressed her hope that Hanoi and other provinces of Ireland will improve cooperation in various fields, which Ireland currently has advantages of, such as agriculture, education, cultural heritage promotion and preservation for more efficiency and practicality. 

The Deputy Secretary of Hanoi’s Party Committee Ngo Thanh Hang said, she will have an official visit to Dublin from September 27 – 29 to discuss cooperation plan between the two capitals in the coming time. At the same time, during this visit, Hanoi looks forward for more discussions, experiences sharing in hi-tech   agricultural sector, green industrial products manufacturing, food processing and food safety. These are fields Ireland have rich experiences. 

In particular, during the implementation process of Ireland’s national support strategy for Vietnam in the future, Hanoi suggested Ireland to consider the city as official partner to be the beneficiary of this program, especially in field of culture. As such, the two sides will cooperate to develop projects with related to recovery, preservation and promotion of traditional cultural value in Hanoi. 

Through this effort, it will help raise the local community’s awareness in keeping, managing and utilizing cultural value to serve the purpose of economic development, such as tourist services in traditional craft villages, in turn contributes to create jobs for farmers and reduce poverty.  

​The Irish Ambassador to Vietnam Mrs. Cait Moran thanked the warm welcome of Hanoi’s leaders, which shows the high appreciation of Hanoi to the cooperation between Vietnam and Ireland in over 20 years and through cooperation programs between the two sides. At the same time, Mrs. Cait Moran said, during her tenure, the Ambassador will dedicate her efforts in improving the bilateral relationship between Vietnam and Ireland in general, and between Hanoi and Ireland’s provinces in particular. Besides, Ireland is willing to share with Hanoi experiences on economy, culture, investment among others, which will contribute to the Vietnam’s capital sustainable socio – economic development.
