The scheme was part of the municipal People Committee's plan to carry out a traceability system in the city for the 2021-2030 period.
Under the latest plan, the People’s Committee called for local agencies, districts, and units to intensify supervision activities and deal with violations of regulations related to tracing the origins of products and goods.
The authorities are also responsible for conducting a survey on the actual situation and demand of manufacturers and businesses in the city for product traceability, which would serve as the basis for the development of Hanoi’s product traceability system.
The Hanoi People’s Committee expected the Department of Science and Technology to submit a report on solutions to improve efficiency in product traceability before December 15.
As part of the effort to promote product traceability practice, the municipal Department of Agricultural and Rural Development has been operating the Agro-Forestry-Fishery and Food Traceability System at the address check.hanoi.gov.vn.
As of the end of the first quarter, the system has provided instruction and opened accounts for 3,109 farming facilities, cooperatives, and producers in Hanoi.
Overall, nearly 11,000 QR code for traceability has been issued for agricultural products and met requirements on food safety.
In the coming time, the Department would continue to cooperate with its counterparts from 21 provinces/cities in the North in promoting domestic consumption of farm produce that is safe, clean, and of clear origin.
The Department would also apply the IT system with integrated QR codes in managing, identifying, and tracing the origin of farm products.
