Hanoi prepares dossiers to join UNESCO's network of creative cities
A task is designing logo, identification kit and a website for the "Hanoi – the creative city" profile with comprehensive and highlighted information on vision, message, policy about the future of Hanoi city.
Hanoi's authority is preparing dossiers to apply for joining UNESCO's network of creative cities, becoming one of the world's intellectual and creative destinations, local media reported.
Accordingly, specific tasks include carrying out surveys, collecting data on the city’s culture, architecture, environmental resources, education, construction, healthcare, handicraft villages, literature, arts, among others; organizing seminars and international conferences to seek ideas from scientists, managers, experts inside and outside the country.
Another task is designing logo, identification kit and a website for the "Hanoi – the creative city" profile with comprehensive and highlighted information on vision, message, policy about the future of Hanoi city.
In November 2019, Hanoi will send a delegation to attend the meeting in France where the profile assessment results will be announces.
On May 1, 2018, Hanoi was named in the list of 26 cities of ASEAN for piloting the ASEAN Smart Cities Network, according to an ASEAN concept note.
The concept note, released during the 32nd ASEAN Summit of leaders in Singapore, outlines the proposal to establish the ASEAN Smart Cities Network.
Hanoi city sets the target of turning itself into a smart city by 2030 in accordance with its revised information and technology strategy in the 2016-2020 period.
Phan Lan Tu, director of the Hanoi Department of Information and Communications, said that the four priority sectors chosen to build the smart city are health, education, transport, and tourism. Since 2017, all these four sectors have been digitalized in combination with the development of e-government and administrative reforms to lay the foundations of a smart city.
