Hanoi moves to streamline administrative procedures
The trimming off of 34 administrative procedures in Hanoi`s industry and trade has translated into the reduction of 116 working days, saving about VND2.4 billion (US$103,200).
The Hanoi People's Committee has requested departments and agencies under its management to simplify and cut down administrative procedures after reviewing the city’s 2018 administrative reform.
In the field of industry and trade, the local government has asked for simplification of 34 administrative procedures or 34% of the paperwork in the areas of domestic goods circulation, consumption, food safety, trade promotion, chemicals, industrial explosives and cigarettes.

In the construction field, Hanoi has requested streamlining three administrative procedures, helping to cut down by one and eight working days. While in the legal sector, Hanoi has requested the simplification of 19 administrative procedures.
In the field of land management, the city has asked to streamline the application files and the time for processing dossiers for five administrative procedures. It is estimated to save more than VND800 million (US$34,400) of annual administrative fee.
In the field of planning and investment, Hanoi has proposed simplification for ten out of administrative procedures, including investment procedures using non-budget capital and foreign investment. The streamlining will help reduce the time by between two and five working days.
