A Hanoi delegation led by Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung paid working visits to Israel and the United Kingdom between November 4 and 13 to foster cooperation with the two countries’ cities and partners and paved path for enhanced ties.
Promoting cooperation with Israel in numerous fields
During the visit in Israel, the Hanoi delegation met and worked with Tel Aviv Mayor Ron Huldai, partners, investors and businesses of the two countries.
The two sides shared experiences and discussed the possibility of cooperation in the fields of startup, innovation and technology for smart city building.

Chung gave an overview of the outstanding results of Hanoi's socio-economic development, highlighted challenges in the development process and discussed potentials and specific ideas for cooperation between the two sides.
Huldai said the Tel Aviv government is willing to work with Hanoi and other Vietnamese localities to share experiences in smart city building, investment, trade, tourism, urban management, technology transfer, agriculture and hi-tech healthcare, thus helping to bolster relations between the two cities, as well as the two countries.
On this occasion, Chung invited Mayor Tel Aviv to visit Hanoi and attend the F1 race, slated to take place in the city in April 2020.
Meeting with Chairman of the Federation of Local Authorities of Israel Haim Bibas, Chung mentioned the difficulties and challenges facing Hanoi in its development process.
The Hanoi mayor expressed his hope that through meetings with officials of Tel Aviv and other cities of Israel, the two sides will step up experience sharing and cooperation in the strong fields of the Middle East nation.
Hanoi and Israel expand medical cooperation
The Hanoi delegation also had meetings with leaders of Simbionix Company, the Rabin Medical Center and its Belison Hospital, and Insightec Company to promote cooperation in health care.
At the meeting with Vice President of Simbionix Company Ran Bronstein, Nguyen Duc Chung said that the city has cooperated closely with medical equipment manufacturers in the world to support research and supply suitable medical equipment for examination and treatment in Vietnam.
Chung stressed that Hanoi will be ready to create the most favorable conditions for Simbionix to invest or transfer technology to build a simulation center in Hanoi.

On this occasion, the Hanoi Department of Health and Simbionix Company signed a memorandum of cooperation.
Hanoi enhances cooperation with Israeli businesses on building smart city
During its stay in Israel, the Hanoi delegation met with Chairman of Blenheim Properties Group Ltd Igal Ahouvi to boost the implementation of the firm’s project in Hanoi and the partnerships in smart city building, new urban area building and information technology development in Vietnam’s capital city.
Besides, the delegation had a working session with Clariter clean-tech company to boost ties in waste treatment.
Chung suggested Clariter provided consultancy and share experiences in plastic waste classification and investment cooperation in a plastic waste treatment plant in Hanoi.
Hanoi strengthens investment with Pacific Land Group
During the trip to the UK from November 9 to 11, Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung had a working session with President of Pacific Land group Patrick McKillen in London.
The Hanoi government has accelerated the handling of procedures related to the group’s hotel complex in Ba Dinh district and biotech park Habotec in Bac Tu Liem district, Chung said.
He asked the firm to speed up its projects, attract British investment to the biotech park, and assist Hanoi to organize investment promotion activities in the UK and the US.
Chung also suggested Pacific Land group consider investing in a shopping center in Hanoi city.
For his part, McKillen expressed his belief in the success of his group’s projects in Hanoi to create landmark works for the city.
He pledged to continue supporting Hanoi city to organize investment promotion conferences in the UK and the US in the coming years.
The Hanoi delegation also had a working session with the Vietnamese embassy in the UK. Vietnamese Ambassador to the UK Tran Ngoc An appreciated the cooperation between Hanoi city and his embassy, and affirmed that the embassy will closely coordinate with the Hanoi government to promote exchanges between the capitals of Vietnam and the UK in the time ahead.
