Hanoi hopes for stronger ties with Stockholm and Swedish companies: Mayor
Hanoi plays a crucial part in the two countries’ political and economic relations.
Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung has expressed his hope that Swedish Ambassador to Vietnam Pereric Hogberg, in his new role after finishing his term in Vietnam, will continue to support the relations between Hanoi and Stockholm and Swedish companies so that they reach new heights.
At a reception late on Wednesday for the diplomat who is going to complete his three-year tenure in the coming months, Hanoi’s mayor showed his high appreciation for the ambassador’s role in fostering the relations between Vietnam and Sweden as well as between Hanoi and Stockholm.
“Thanks to your invaluable support, our ties have been much strengthened,” Mayor Chung said when
Chung also appreciated the ambassador’s support in connecting the Stockholm government, Swedish business community with the Hanoi authority, as well as providing the city with access to Swedish companies and experts that are really knowledgeable of information technology and smart city development.
For his part, the ambassador said he had always been impressed with Chung’s personal engagement and his ability to create things that put Hanoi on the map of the world, and contributions to enhancing the historic relationship between Vietnam and Sweden which has last for 50 years.
