The first Hanoi Fall Festival with the theme "Hanoi - Come to fall in love" will be held at Hoan Kiem Walking Space and Hanoi Children's Palace from September 29 to October 1, aiming to promote travel to the capital in Autumn, the season when Hanoi is considered to be at its best.

The information was announced by Deputy Director of Hanoi Promotion Agency (HPA) Nguyen Thi Mai Anh at a press conference in Hanoi on September 20.

According to Anh, this is the first iteration of an event showcasing Hanoi's culture and cuisine on Capital Liberation Day (October 10).

The festival will feature 150 booths from people's committees in 10 districts of Hoan Kiem, Me Linh, Quoc Oai, Ung Hoa, Ba Dinh, Nam Tu Liem, Cau Giay, Dong Anh, Ba Vi and Gia Lam.

There will also be art performances, a photo exhibition of Hanoi's autumn, an ao dai (traditional long robe) performance, a carnival, a Hanoi cuisine experience room, and a conference on MICE and golf tourism, among others.

Thang Long Hanoi Heritage Conservation Center, Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Hanoi Chapter, Hanoi Tourist Corporation, Hanoi Handicraft and Craft Villages Association, Vietnam Cuisine Culture Association, Hanoi Tourism Association and Vietnam Royal Chefs Association will also participate in the event.

Moreover, 14 provinces and cities across the country will showcase their local tourism products and services at the event, including Phu Tho, Ha Giang, Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Tuyen Quang, Hai Duong, Bac Giang, Thai Binh, Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa, Quang Binh, Phu Yen, Dong Nai, An Giang.

The highlight of the fashion show is 11 ao dai collections by 11 designers, including the record ao dai "Sign of Time" by designer Hoang Ly, 189 meters long, studded with stones and printed with ancient Vietnamese motifs.

HPA Deputy Director Nguyen Thi Mai Anh said the Hanoi Fall Festival 2023 is an opportunity to promote the capital as an attractive, high-quality and safe destination. At the same time, it will showcase the unique values of Hanoi's handicraft villages and cultural heritage.

"Autumn is the most beautiful time of the year in Hanoi, ensuring the best conditions for tourists to explore famous scenic spots and enjoy the capital's unique cuisine," Mai Anh said.
