The event was jointly organized by the People's Committees of Ha Giang province and Hanoi to strengthen regional links between the two localities and promoting the province’s uniqueness among the city dwellers.

At the opening ceremony on December 25 in Hanoi, Chairman of Ha Giang Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Son said that the province wishes to bring to Hanoi a diverse and unique cultural, tourist and commercial space, where visitors experience the most quintessential features of nature, culture and people of Ha Giang.

“The event is also an opportunity to introduce and promote typical local products and enhance trade linkages of the two localities’ businesses so as to improve the value of the province’s specialty products associated with tourism development,” Mr. Son said.

In the cultural space, 24 booths displayed typical farm produce and other specialties of Ha Giang province, such as oranges, shan tuyet tea, mint honey, rice, soybeans, peanuts, smoked pork and beef. Other cultural heritages including geological heritage, handicrafts, traditional festivals, and folk dances, were also introduced.

In addition, Hanoi visitors also had the opportunity to enjoy a photo exhibition featuring the beauty of the local tourist attractions and people, namely Hoang Su Phi terraced fields, Quan Ba twin mountains, Yen Minh pine forest, Tu San abyss, Ma Pi Leng pass, the Dong Van old town, and the Lung Cu flag pole.

Especially, tourists can watch skillful traditional weaving and tea making techniques performed by local artisans.
