The Hanoitimes - Vietnam’s military-run telecom firm Viettel and the Intel Company have jointly announced a special promotional program “Computers for Soldiers”, to show their appreciation of the armed forces and to encourage all military personnel to make full use of information technology, especially in remote areas and islands.
This is also an extension of the campaign “Computers for Life”, launched by Intel Co. Ltd. in May.
The program will help soldiers broaden and update their knowledge of the latest national and international news on economics and social situations.
It will also provide them and their families cheaper, more efficient and effective computers with Intel chipsets for learning and work purposes.
Beneficiaries of the program will be officers and soldiers of the Vietnamese People’s Army, students of military academies, officials and workers in military hospitals and companies.
It will be compulsory to present any one of the following documents: soldier’s card, military identity card, defense worker’s card or employee card to be able to receive a VND 2,000,000 discount (nearly US$100) on computer purchases.
The program will be on at Viettel Electronic Supermarkets nationwide until September.
