Second Hanoi Technical Innovation Contest launched

The competition aims to promote the creative work in science and technology.

The second Hanoi Technical Innovation Contest was launched by on September 17 to promote the creative work of all sectors, organizations and individuals in the field of science and technology, enhance the effective application of technical issues and solutions in production and life, contributing to socio-economic development.

Le Xuan Rao, Chairman of the Hanoi Union of Science and Technology Associations, shared the view at the opening ceremony.

 

He stressed that the second contest will reward collectives and individuals with excellent works, themes, and technical solutions to participate in the 18th National Technical Innovation Contest and the Vietnam Science and Technology Innovation Award in 2025.

"Program No. 07 of the Hanoi Party Committee has set the goal of developing science, technology, and innovation to become the main driving force for the socio-economic development of the capital, and building Hanoi into a leading center of innovation and scientific research, technology transfer and development of the country and then Southeast Asia in a number of fields," Rao added.

He noted that technical topics and solutions submitted to the contest are evaluated according to three criteria, including novelty and creativity, broad applicability, and specific socio-economic efficiency.

All Vietnamese at home and abroad, as well as foreigners living in Hanoi, who have topics or solutions and applications that contribute to the construction and development of Hanoi City from 2019, are eligible to participate in the contest.

Technical topics and solutions for the competition are divided into six areas: Information Technology, Electronics, Telecommunications; Mechanics, Automation; Materials, Chemicals, Energy, Transportation, Construction; Agriculture, Forestry, Fisheries, Natural Resources and Environment; Medicine and Pharmaceuticals; Education and Training, Creative Solutions in Management and Operation of Organizations.

Standing Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee, Head of the Organizing Board of the contest Le Hong Son said that Resolution No.15 dated May 5, 2022, has identified Hanoi as a major center of science, technology, and innovation.

"At present, the city's political system is focusing its efforts on implementing the Capital Law, which contains many very important contents related to science, technology, and innovation. The law creates an outstanding, unique, and fundamental mechanism to solve difficulties and obstacles in scientific research and technology development," Son said.

He added that Hanoi is home to a large number of scientific and technological intellectuals in institutes and schools, highly skilled workers, and engineers in factories and enterprises in the industrial, agricultural, and service sectors. Hanoi is also home to many innovative initiatives and inventions in the country.
