Addressing the awarding ceremony on April 25 in Hanoi, Minister of Science and Technology Huynh Thanh Dat said that the winners were outstanding enterprises with the high spirit of innovation who have applied advanced solutions to improve products and services. “The awards are prestigious prizes, which are approved by the prime minister,” he said.
Over the last two years, the award winners earned VND192 trillion (US$8.3 billion) in revenue, with profit of VND17 trillion (US$739.7 million). They contributed a total of VND7 trillion (US$304.4 million) to the state budget.
The ministry will continue to build policies so help local enterprises better enjoy preferential treatment on market access and development, improving the workers’ qualification and capacity.
The ministry will also build a national standard to level up the awards’ value and significance. “We will enhance promoting the awards in the coming time,” Dat said.
From the winner’s view, Montri Suwanposri, General Director of C.P Vietnam, said that the criteria of the awards will help the company be aware of advantages and weaknesses, opportunities and challenges. Then, the enterprise will have solutions for improving its capacity and set roadmap for sustainable development.
Over the past 25 years, more than 2,000 enterprises have won the awards, including 240 receiving the golden prize. Among the winners, 50 Vietnamese companies were honored with the Global Performance Excellence Awards.
