Traditional music and fashion of Vietnam have been featured at the Vietnam: A Voyage programe held by the Consulate General of Vietnam in Sydney, Australia and Vietnam-Australia Cultural Exchange Organization (VACEO)

The event took place on September 17 with aim to celebrate the 79th National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, honor the diplomatic achievements between Vietnam and Australia, and introduce Vietnamese culture to international friends.

More than 500 guests attended the ceremony, including representatives of the New South Wales government, representatives of the Vietnamese Embassy, a number of important state agencies, diplomatic missions in Sydney and a large number of overseas Vietnamese living and working in Australia.

In particular, the event welcomed Consul General Nguyen Dang Thang and Attorney-General of New South Wales Michael John Daley.

The event has become a space to connect the Vietnamese community in Australia, while introducing traditional Vietnamese cultural values to international friends.

The artistic performances are imbued with the cultural identity of each region. Each performance is like a vivid picture, depicting the culture, people and nature of each region.

On the occasion of the Mid-Autumn Festival, students from Viet School brought a performance with shimmering, colorful lanterns and clear voices, expressing the joyful atmosphere of the full moon night. In particular, the appearance of Meritorious Artist Dinh Linh - a master of Vietnamese bamboo flute made a special highlight for the program. With unique creations, the artists have breathed new life into traditional art, creating surprising and exciting musical experiences. The program is not only a simple performance but also a cultural message, affirming the position of Vietnamese art in the international arena.

The event also honored the fashion collection The Flow of Memories designed by B.Thelabel by Bianca Nguyen, taking the audience on a journey to discover the beauty of the Mekong Delta.

Through each design, the audience seemed to be immersed in the poetic scenery of the flood season, with golden rice fields and immense rivers.

According to Bianca Nguyen, the collection is not only a work of art but also a tribute to the homeland, while promoting the image of Vietnam to international friends.

Consul General Nguyen Dang Thang affirmed that the great achievements that Vietnam has achieved over the past 79 years are thanks to the patriotism, national unity, will to be self-reliant, talent, and efforts of the Vietnamese people, as well as effective support of many friends around the world, including Australia.

Regarding the Vietnam-Australia relationship, Consul General Nguyen Dang Thang said that in 2023, when Vietnam and Australia celebrate the 50th anniversary of establishing relations, he believed that the achievements the two countries have made over the past half century will be a solid foundation for a brighter future for the relationship. And that belief soon became a reality with the announcement by the Prime Ministers of the two countries in March 2024 about upgrading the relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership - the highest level of partnership that Vietnam has with a foreign country.

On this occasion, the Consul General also expressed his gratitude and appreciation for Australia's timely and valuable support to help Vietnam overcome the consequences of superstorm Yagi.
