Vietnam willing to coordinate with Czech Republic to clear work visa issue

Vietnamese citizens can no longer apply for visas for long-term residential purposes or engage in business activities in the Czech Republic.
Vietnam is committed to cooperating with the Czech Republic to solve the work visa issue and further promote bilateral relations, said Spokesperson of Vietnam’ Ministry of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang said in a regular press conference today. 
The Czech Republic has decided to cease the acceptance of work visa applications by Vietnamese nationals, reported Vietnam News, quoting Czech Minister of the Interior Jan Hamacek in late July.
The suspension applies to the visa applications for long-term residence with the aim of either employment or business activities, he noted.

“Vietnam understands this is rather a technical problem that we are willing to coordinate with the Czech Republic to solve,” Hang said.
Vietnam and the Czech Republic enjoy a fruitful and friendly cooperation.Thereby, the bilateral cooperation in various areas would be promoted further, she added.
Ealier, Vietnamese Ambassador to the Czech Republic Ho Minh Tuan told Vietnam News that Vietnam will actively implement measures to address this issue through diplomatic negotiations. 
Some 500,000 Vietnamese citizens are living and working overseas, according to Vietnam's statistics. On average, more than 90,000 Vietnamese workers leave the country each year, mainly for labor-intensive and low-skilled jobs. Vietnam’s total workforce is around 50 million.
