Opening of Po Hen Market in Mong Cai City

On October 22, the Po Hen Market in Hai Son Commune, Mong Cai City, the northern province of Quang Ninh, was inaugurated to preserve and promote the cultural heritage, cuisine, traditional products, and unique customs of ethnic groups. Established in 1975, the market serves as a trading hub between residents and China's Tansan Village. In 2023, Mong Cai City allocated funds and received contributions from residents to renovate the market, which covers an area of about 6,000 square meters.

The market is known for its fairs, including various cultural and artistic activities, folk dance performances, traditional costume displays, and traditional games of Hai Son Commune's ethnic groups.

Three Vietnamese sites honored at Destination Deluxe Awards 2023

Three Vietnamese hotels and resorts have been named among the best places to stay by the Destination Deluxe Awards 2023. Six Senses Ninh Van Bay in Khanh Hoa's Nha Trang City wins the Eco-Hotel of the Year category, and Mi Sol Journey of InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort's Mi Sol Spa in Danang wins the Holistic Treatment of the Year category. Meanwhile, TIA Wellness Resort's Creative Healing Retreat in Danang took second place in the Wellness Program of the Year category.

The awards received more than 1,000 nominations this year for a total of 25 award categories.

Da Lat launches tourism writing contest 

The central highland city of Da Lat has launched a contest until November 11 to collect ideas on improving local tourism services to cultivate sustainable tourism.

Each written article should not exceed 1,200 words in Vietnamese or English. Those with videos or photos will receive bonus points. Participants can also submit their photo essay, which consists of 3-8 pictures of the city combined with captions or explanations. Submissions should be sent to hienkedulichdalat@tuoitre.com.vn. The winner will receive a prize of VND10 million (US$407) and a voucher for a tour of Da Lat.

Vietnamese ports can handle 750 million tons of goods a year

Vietnam has 34 seaports and 296 terminals capable of handling 750 million tons of goods every year, according to Le Do Muoi, Director of the Vietnam Maritime Administration. In 2022, Vietnam's seaports and terminals will handle about 724 million tons of goods.

The director said trade agreements between Vietnam and other economies have increased the country's trade values and boosted the volume of goods handled by local ports.

Napalkova Cancer Center seeks cooperation with Vietnam

Russia's Napalkova Cancer Center is willing to provide treatment to Vietnamese patients on a fee-for-service basis, according to Vladimir Moiseenko, the center's director. He expressed his desire to expand cooperation with specialized doctors in Vietnam, such as remote consultation in surgical cases.

The center has been working with cancer hospitals in Vietnam for five years.
