FPT acquires a 20-year-old technology company in the US

FPT Corporation announced the purchase of Cardinal Peak, a firm located in the United States, as a strategic step to expand its product engineering delivery capabilities in North America. This initiative, which is part of FPT's worldwide expansion plan, capitalizes on Cardinal Peak's expertise and 20 years of experience in providing end-to-end product engineering services.

Cardinal Peak is FPT's third technology acquisition in the United States this year. This objective is partly fueled by its intention to invest $100 million in this important market by the end of 2023.

First Graffiti Art Exhibition underway in Hanoi

On November 24 and 25, Hanoi will host a graffiti art exhibition featuring more than 30 Vietnamese painters, as well as foreign artists from Indonesia, Cambodia, Australia, Germany, France and the United Kingdom.

The event is part of the 2023 Hanoi Creative Design Festival.

Nhat Tan Tourism Area recognized as city-level tourism site

The Hanoi People's Committee has issued Decision No. 5642, designating Nhat Tan Tourism Area in Nhat Tan Ward, Tay Ho District, as a city-level tourism site.

Cultural, architectural, and historical tourism, as well as ecological, gastronomic, recreational, and shopping tourism, are all available in the Nhat Tan Tourism Area.

Vietnamese business leaders seek partners in US

Vietnamese business executives from organizations and firms are taking part in the 2023 Survey Program, which is being organized by the Vietnam Confederation of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) in the United States from November 3-13. 

They will meet with trade promotion and investment organizations in New York and San Francisco City Hall, tour Silicon Valley, join business networking events, and explore investment and commercial collaboration potential in the new context.

The program will focus on innovation and technology application, relying on the experiences of the US market to assist Vietnamese enterprises in fully penetrating the US market and developing successful business strategies.

Japanese delegation interested in expanding decentralized relations with Vietnamese localities

Kobe is keen to strengthen interaction and collaboration with Vietnamese cities and provinces such as Haiphong, Ha Nam and Quang Ninh. Murano Seiichi, chairman of the Japan-Vietnam Parliamentary Friendship Alliance in Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture, said this during a November 7 meeting with Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Minh Vu.

According to Vu, Japan is one of Vietnam's important partners in terms of ODA, trade and investment, exchange of labor and people, and culture. He urged the Japanese side to encourage local businesses to visit and invest in Vietnam.

Vietnam plans to have one million hectares of large timber in 2030

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development plans this week to launch a national strategy on large timber cultivation to grow one million hectares of large wood trees by 2030. Vietnam will establish large timber plantations that fulfill Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) standards under the plan.

A report from the ministry's Forestry Department showed that Vietnam has 14.74 million hectares of forest, which provides raw materials to around 6,000 businesses across the country. Their main products are wood chips and other mundane carpentry work with low economic efficiency.

Viettel Group showcases Vietnamese military techs at Defense and Security 2023 conference

Viettel, a military-run telecom group, represents Vietnam at the 2023 Defense and Security Conference and Networking Event, which runs in Bangkok, Thailand's capital, until tomorrow (November 9). 

Viettel exhibits 60 high-tech product displays and videos in eight categories, including information and communication, electronic warfare, radar and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in a 100 m2 pavilion. The company expects to foster strategic ties with Southeast Asia and Asian nations.
