Vung Tau to host Festival of Vietnam's Sea and Islands in May

Vietnam Sea and Islands Festival-Vung Tau City 2024, featuring a series of culinary, sports and cultural events, will be held May 23-25 at Quang Trung Square in Vung Tau City, southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau.
Visitors to the festival will be able to experience a food fair showcasing local cuisine and specialties at 300 booths (May 23-26); the Luminous Harmony Show (May 23-24); a yoga performance; the traditional Vietnamese Ao Dai Parade; and activities by the Mobile Propaganda Team for Vietnam's Sea and Islands (May 24).
Vietnamese teams finish in top 10 at the 2024 VEX Robotics World Championship
All 12 Vietnamese teams participating in the VEX Robotics World Championship 2024, held from April 25 to May 3 in the United States, finished in the top 10 of their respective groups, the Robotics Education and Competition Foundation announced on May 10. Of the 12 teams, five were from Hanoi (one elementary school, five middle schools, and one high school from Vinschool, True North International School, and Hanoi - Amsterdam High School). The championship, now in its 17th year, has attracted over 2,200 teams from more than 50 countries around the world.
Teaching Hanoi students to value water resources
More than 2,000 people, including 1,050 children, 600 women (female teachers and parents) and 400 male teachers and parents, have joined the initiative to raise awareness of the value of water resources and promote water conservation and reuse in the daily lives of Hanoi students. This activity aims to provide feedback to management agencies on the current situation of water use and potential measures for water conservation and reuse in the city. The initiative is part of the Justice Initiative Facilitation Fund (JIFF) - one of the components of the EU Justice and Legal Empowerment Program in Vietnam (EU JULE), funded by the European Union and implemented by the Ministry of Justice.
Hanoi's one-stop shops to introduce cashless payments from June 1
Residents and businesses in Hanoi will use cashless payment methods to complete administrative procedures at all levels of one-stop shops in the city's districts, suburbs and towns starting June 1, according to the latest plan issued by the Hanoi People's Committee on May 10. The decision was made after a successful cashless payment pilot in Hoan Kiem District. The city aims to achieve 100% cashless transactions through QR codes when individuals pay fees and charges for administrative procedures.
