Hoi An to host Korean Cultural Day 2023

Korean cultural festival, jointly organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea, the Korean Cultural Center in Vietnam and the Hoi An People's Committee, is underway today [December 9], in the central province of Quang Nam’s ancient city of Hoi An, to showcase cultural features of the two countries. Visitors attending the event will experience many exciting activities, including making kimchi and lanterns, playing folk games at Hoi An - Korea cultural experience space, and joining Vietnam - Korea Art Exchange concert. 

Another int’l airline opens regular routes to Hanoi

China’s Sichuan Airlines begins its first flight from Chengdu, Sichuan Province (China) to Vietnam via Hanoi's Noi Bai International Airport. Sichuan Airlines is one of six airlines connecting Hanoi with China. The Chengdu-Hanoi route is operated with one round trip per day. Direct flights to Chengdu facilitate Vietnamese tourists to explore Jiuzhai Valley and Zhangjiajie and savor the renowned cuisine of Sichuan Province.

Hoi An ranks first in the 10 most visited places in Vietnam

According to Booking.com, Hoi An ancient town will be the place most visited by Vietnamese tourists in 2024, with a significant increase of six places compared to the previous year. Meanwhile, the central city of Danang witnessed the biggest drop in the top favorite destinations, falling to fifth place. In 2022, this city was chosen by Vietnamese tourists as the most visited place in 2023. Hanoi decreased two rankings from 2nd in 2022 to 4th in 2023.

Fitch Ratings upgrades Vietnam's to BB+

Fitch Ratings has upgraded Vietnam's long-term foreign currency issuer default rating (IDR) to BB+, with a stable outlook. The upgrade reflects Vietnam's favorable medium-term growth outlook, underpinned by robust foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows, which Fitch expected will continue to drive sustained improvements in its structural credit metrics. 

Vietnam sets standards for issuing training certifications to foreigners teaching English

The Ministry of Education and Training has issued a decision to provide training and certification for foreigners teaching English at language and technology centers. Eligibility includes native English speakers with a college degree or higher, foreigners with a degree in English, and those with a degree and a foreign language proficiency certificate of level 5 or higher according to Vietnam's language competency framework.

The establishment of green hub in Ho Chi Minh City proposed

 

During a meeting with Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, Phan Van Mai, on December 8, some investors proposed the establishment of a startup incubation center in the green economy sector to attract capital and serve as a hub for investors interested in this field. The green hub would also help streamline administrative procedures and pilot supportive policies by maximizing the benefits of Resolution 98 on special mechanisms for the city.

Hanoians, tourists enjoy cultural and tourism space of Cao Bang this week

From December 8 to 10, Hanoi residents and domestic and international tourists can experience various cultural, culinary, and tourism activities promoting the land, people, and unique cultural values of the northern province of Cao Bang at the 2023 Cao Bang Tourism Festival. The event takes place at the flower garden area of Ba Kieu Temple and the pedestrian area around Hoan Kiem Lake, Hanoi.

Ho Chi Minh City to build an additional 35.000 social houses by 2025

Ho Chi Minh City needs to add 35,000 social houses by 2025 to accomplish its housing development program for the 2021-2030 period, a target set at the 13th Session of the Municipal People's Council. At the meeting, delegates said that these social housing projects have partly satisfied housing needs for low-income people and officials who have difficulty in buying houses and contributed to economic development and ensuring social security.
