Ho Chi Minh City to earn $20.5 billion in budget revenue by 2024

Ho Chi Minh City's budget revenue is estimated to reach VND502 trillion (US$20.5 billion) in 2024, up 12% year-on-year, contributing 27% to the national total, according to Nguyen Van Nen, Secretary of the city's Party Committee, on December 4. The city has accelerated digital transformation, anti-corruption efforts, and the development of the Thu Thiem urban project, which is expected to be completed by 2030.

Hoi An celebrates 25 years as UNESCO World Heritage Site

Vietnam State Treasury raises $852 million through bond auctions

The State Treasury of Vietnam raised nearly VND21 trillion (US$852 million) through the issuance of G bonds in November 2024, with the 10-year tenor accounting for 77% ($656 million). In the secondary market, the average daily trading value reached $570 million, with foreign investors making net purchases of US$6 million, which made up 1.8% of the total trading value.

Haiphong to build Vietnam's longest sea-crossing bridge

The northern city of Haiphong announced plans on December 4 to build the Tan Vu-Lach Huyen 2 sea-crossing bridge, which will span 5.44 km and become Vietnam's longest bridge. The project, estimated to cost VND8.7 trillion ($354 million) from the Korean Economic Development Cooperation Fund and local budgets, is scheduled for 2026-2030. Built on the foundation of the existing bridge, it aims to accommodate increased traffic flows and improve connectivity to the Cat Hai port area.

Exhibitions in Lam Dong showcase military history, floral heritage

Two exhibitions showcasing Vietnam's military heritage and Dalat's floral beauty will open in Lam Dong Province today [Dec 4]. The "Uncle Ho's Soldiers" exhibition marks the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army with 200 pictures and artifacts, while "Brilliant Colors of Dalat Flowers" highlights over 100 pictures of the city's signature flowers. Both events will run through January 5, 2025.
