Brunei Sultan and Philippine President to visit Vietnam in 2024

The Sultan of Brunei and the President of the Philippines will visit Vietnam in 2024 to discuss measures to strengthen cooperation.

This was discussed at a meeting between Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the Sultan of Brunei and the President of the Philippines on December 17 on the sidelines of the ASEAN-Japan 50th Commemorative Summit in Tokyo, Japan from December 16-18.

Nam Dinh launches new tours to attract visitors

The Nam Dinh Tourism Association on December 17 introduced its set of five tours with the theme “the Nam Dinh Discovery” to boost the province's tourism industry in the coming period.

Accordingly, visitors to the province will have the opportunity to explore the old streets (similar to the Old Quarter of Hanoi), enjoy the Tran Temple festival, witness the beauty of the abandoned church on the coast of Hai Hau District, and taste special local foods.

PVF Football Academy wins Vietnam-Japan U13 tournament

Hanoi-based PVF Football Academy won the Vietnam-Japan Under-13 Football Tournament on December 17. PVF Football Academy defeated Hanoi 2-0 in the final to win the title.

The tournament opened on December 15 and involved 12 under-13 football teams, including seven from Vietnam, four from Japan and one from Malaysia. The tournament is one of a series of activities to commemorate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan.

Overseas Vietnamese in Singapore deliver gifts to cheer up guest workers

The overseas Vietnamese community in Singapore handed over 1,000 gift packages of rice, instant noodles and other necessities to migrant workers in the country on December 17 at a ceremony to mark International Migrants Day (December 18). They also distributed 500kg of ST25 rice and 250 gift packs to Vietnamese workers in Singapore.

The International Migrants Day celebration was held in Singapore's Little India and was attended by around 10,000 migrant workers in the country.

Apple moves significant engineering resources to Vietnam

Apple has partnered with Chinese iPad assembler BYD to move New Product Introduction (NPI) resources to Vietnam. This move by Apple marks the first instance of transferring NPI resources to Vietnam for a core device, underscoring Vietnam's pivotal role as a manufacturing hub for the prominent American technology company, as reported by Nikkei.
