Vietnam hopes to boost Vietnam - US relationship after Trump’s election
Vietnam always attaches importance to its friendly relations and cooperation with the United States and its desire to further promote and deepen the two countries`s comprehensive partner relationship practically in a stable, sustainable, long-term way.
On November 10, Vietnam Foreign Ministry's Spokesperson Le Hai Binh made the statement when responding to reporters’ queries on Vietnam's reaction to the US Presidential election.
Vietnam always attaches importance to its friendship and cooperation with the US, the Foreign Ministry spokesman cited a November 9 message of Vietnamese leaders to President-elect Donald Trump.
He also quoted the message as saying that Vietnam wants the two nations to continue intensifying the comprehensive partnership in a substantive, stable, sustainable and long-term manner, especially in economy, trade and investment, science-technology, education-training, defence, security, while beefing up cooperation in regional and international issues.
Earlier on on November 9, State President Tran Dai Quang and Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc sent messages of congratulations to President-elect of the United States of America Donald Trump.
The messages wrote: “Vietnam always attaches importance to its friendship and cooperation with the United States of America. Vietnam wishes that the two nations will continue to promote and deepen the bilateral comprehensive partnership towards a practical, stable, sustainable and long-term direction, especially in the fields of economy, trade, investment, science-technology, education-training, defence, security as well as beefing up cooperation in regional and international issues”.
