Cuong said Vietnam’s production of face masks and protective gear for medical workers is not only meeting domestic demand to cope with coronavirus infections and but also enough for export.
The country is also trying to produce invasive and non-invasive ventilators to replace imported machines, the deputy minister added.
He noted that as Vietnam has strictly applied coronavirus infection prevention and control measures, the Covid-19 pandemic is still kept under control. However, it is developing unpredictably so the local government and all citizens should remain vigilant.
In regard of Covid-19 treatment, Deputy Minister of Health Nguyen Truong Son said that his ministry has requested all hospitals to improve epidemic prevention and control measures to ensure the safety of patients, health workers and the community.
Son also recommended that citizens with suspicious Covid-19 symptoms should contact the nearest health facility for instructions and only visit doctors with prior appointment booking to ensure social distance.
As of April 7, Vietnam has confirmed 245 Covid-19 patients, 95 of them have been cured and discharged from hospital.
