Vietnam - Czech enhance cooperation in automobile production
The Czech Republic is promoting a project to produce automobiles in Vietnam, hoping to open up business opportunities between the two countries.
PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc proposed Vietnam and the Czech Republic make efforts in enhancing and expanding cooperation in economics, trade and investment at his reception for Czech Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Deputies and President of the Czech-Morava Communist Party Vojtech Filip on June 5 in Hanoi.
At the meeting, Mr. Vojtech Filip expressed his hope that Vietnam will soon apply an opener policy for Czech citizens, announcing that the Czech Republic is always making it easier for the granting of visas for Vietnamese to work, study and visit the country.
The Czech Republic has established some vocational training centers to assist Vietnamese workers in fields of mechanics and support industry, he said, suggesting the two sides further cooperate in such areas as aviation, pilot training, use and transfer of technology of light aircraft.
The Vietnamese PM asserted that Vietnam attaches importance to the relationship with traditional partners in the Eastern Europe, including the Czech Republic, hailing the two nations’ active development through delegation exchanges at all levels.
Regarding the visa issue, the PM affirmed he will assign Vietnamese relevant agencies to tackle it.
Vietnam will facilitate cooperative projects with the Czech Republic, the Vietnamese leader stressed, adding that the nation welcomes the Czech Republic to promote cooperation with Vietnam in automobile production.
He lauded the successful organization of the sixth meeting of Vietnam-Czech Inter-Governmental Committee, adding that the Vietnamese Government will closely cooperate with the Czech Government in launching reached agreements in the meeting, making contribution to promoting the bilateral relationship, especially in fields of energy, infrastructure, environmental protection and food safety.
PM Phuc proposed the Czech Republic advocate Vietnam's nomination as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council in the 2020-2021 phase, expecting the Czech Republic to enhance the comprehensive partnership between Vietnam and the EU and back the signing of the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA).
Vietnam is willing to support the Czech Republic to strengthen the relationship with ASEAN and its country members, he confirmed.
He required the Czech Republic to consider and promote the simplification and granting of visas for Vietnamese citizens for tourism and labor purposes.
The Czech side is advocating Vietnam to nominate as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council in the 2020-2021 phase and hoping to soon ink the EVFTA, said Mr. Vojtech Filip.
He suggested the Vietnamese Government support launching a direct air route between the two nations to boost trade, cooperation and people-to-people exchanges.
The Czech Republic is actively promoting cooperative projects in labor exports with the northern province of Quang Ninh and a project on automobile production with the hope of bringing more cooperative opportunities for the two sides.
