Other activities at the Van Phuc Village Festival includes a water puppet show, quan ho singing and chau van singing. Meanwhile, food stalls will serve local cuisine while bonsai plants and flowers will be available at the site for exhibition.
In addition, the organizing board has prepared four main street to serve visitors including silk making, cuisine, flower and silk trade streets. The festival aims to promote tourism as well as introduce domestic and foreign visitors many traditional silk “made in Vietnam” products.
Walking on the main road in Van Phuc, tourists will be lost in the world of silk with various products like shirts, ties, crafts, dresses, etc made of silk available in the village.
Van Phuc village, located 10km west of Hanoi’s downtown, has a hundred-year history of silk making. Van Phuc silk was showcased to the world at the Marseille Fair in 1931 and in Paris in 1932. Between 1958 and 1988, the village’s silk was exported to eastern Europe and now, the traditional products are being sold all over the world.
