The 4th Congress of the Vietnamese Association in Russia, held on December 14, established the Union of Vietnamese Organizations and elected its leadership team, including a president, members of the Standing Committee, and the Inspection Committee, according to the Vietnam News Agency.

Businessman Do Xuan Hoang was elected president of the union for the 2024-2029 term.
The event commemorated the 20th anniversary of the Vietnamese Association in Russia and looked ahead to the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries in 2025.
Vyacheslav Kalganov, Vice-Chairman of the St. Petersburg Committee for External Relations, said that the cooperation between the city and Vietnamese localities is effective thanks to the support of the Association, noting that its activities have gained wide recognition in Vietnam.
In his report to the congress, President Do Xuan Hoang outlined three main tasks for the association, including promoting community unity and development, fostering ties with the homeland, and engaging in people-to-people diplomacy.
Vietnamese Ambassador to Russia Dang Minh Khoi praised the association's role in promoting economic development, ensuring community stability and protecting the legitimate interests of its members.
He expressed the hope that the Union would act as a strong bridge between the community and the Embassy, preserving traditional values and cultural identity while contributing to the development of the country.
