The ranking was conducted objectively, independently and based on the results of assessment on the financial capacity of the business, the reputation of the business in the media and the survey of opinions from several research subjects and related parties conducted last month, according to experts.
On the occasion, Vietnam Report also announced the top ten software services and solutions suppliers in 2022, namely FPT Software, MISA Joint Stock Company, FPT Information System, VNPT Technology, Elcom Technology Communications Corporation, and among others.
Vietnam Report’s General Director Vu Dang Vinh said Covid-19 has boosted businesses’ needs and efforts in digital transformation as well as investment in technology, thus creating great chances for technology companies.
“The economic landscape in the first months of this year was bright. The Covid-19 pandemic was basically under control, and most business activities had returned to normal,” Vinh said.
He added that digital transformation may take place more strongly when customers realize the benefit of the process in reducing cost and increasing productivity. In the overall growth rate of the whole economy, the information technology industry continued to maintain growth momentum.
“In 2021, Vietnam’s information and communication technology sector generated total revenues of over US$136 billion, up 9% from a year earlier. The number of digital technology enterprises in Vietnam reached 64,000, an on-year rise of 9.5%. Information technology and telecommunications revenues in the five months of 2022 is estimated at $57 billion, up 8.5% over last year,” Vinh cited.
He added that the sector is expected to keep its strong growth in the remaining months of the year, thanks to the push from the digital transformation wave and investment in technology to improve productivity and reduce costs.
Regarding challenges for local information and communication technology companies, Vinh pointed to market saturation, as reflected in statistics from the Vietnam Telecommunication Administration under the Ministry of Information and Communications.
"Limited conditions for research and development (R&D), a shortage of quality human resources and a lack of support policies and regulations are other issues," Vinh said.
