The string trio Samir Barris from Belgium will perform in Ha Noi, Hue and HCM City in March to celebrate the International Francophonie Day on March 20.
Accordingly, the trio, Samir Barris (guitar, vocal), Margaret Hermant (violin, harp, back vocal) and Nicholas Yates (contrabass, back vocal) will present a concert at Youth Theatre, Ha Noi on March 15; and another at Hue City's Cultural Centre two days later. On March 19, the trio will join Celina Ramsauer of Switzerland in a concert at the Institute of Cultural Exchange with France (IDECAF).
Samir Barris will lead the audience through the famous works of French poets, with his notes and lyrics. In a bold and sophisticated way, he will turn the outstanding poems of Baudelaire, Hugo, Verlaine, Lamartine and Vian into music.
The author, composer and singer Samir Barris lives in Brussels. He has released two albums and has also composed songs for children. His current project is to tour with his own compositions from the famous works of French poets.
All performances start at 8pm and entry is by invitation only.
Free tickets will be distributed at Wallonie-Bruxelles Delegation in Ha Noi from March 3 (04 38315241), at the Hue Cultural Centre from March 4 and at HCM City's IDECAF from March 5 (08 38295451).
The event is being jointly organised by the Wallonie-Bruxelles Delegation in Viet Nam, the International Organisation of La Francophonie, the central Hue City's People's Committee, the Swiss Embassy in Viet Nam and HCM City's IDECAF.
