On December 23, the Hanoi People’s Committee unveiled its plans for fireworks and events to celebrate the occasion. The celebrations will feature over 15,000 fireworks set to light up the sky at various outdoor entertainment venues throughout the city.

On New Year's Eve, Hanoi will host fireworks at five locations, including both aerial and ground displays. The fireworks will go off from 12:00 am to 12:15 am on January 1, 2025 and will last for 15 minutes.

Locations for the displays include: in front of the Hanoimoi Newspaper Headquarters and Hanoi Post Office along Hoan Kiem Lake; the F1 racetrack at My Dinh Stadium; Van Quan Lake in Ha Dong District; Son Tay Citadel in Son Tay Town; and the Dong Anh District Sports Center.

On Vietnamese Lunar New Year Eve, January 28, Hanoi will host fireworks at 30 locations. Of these, 10 locations will stage both aerial and ground fireworks, while 21 locations will feature ground-based fireworks only.

Other venues for the celebrations include: Coconut Island in Thong Nhat Park, Hai Ba Trung District; Lac Long Quan Flower Garden in Tay Ho District; Hoa Binh Park in Bac Tu Liem District; and Ngoc Khanh pedestrian street, among others.

In addition to the fireworks, Hanoi has planned a number of cultural and artistic events. Highlights include a music festival on the evening of December 31 at Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square (at the intersection of Le Thai To, Dinh Tien Hoang, Hang Dao and Cau Go streets) and August Revolution Square (in front of the Hanoi Opera House). A light concert entitled "Welcome New Year 2025" will be held in front of the Tay Ho District People's Committee at 8:00 pm on January 18, 2025. In addition, the "Brilliant Thang Long 2025" program will be held on January 28, 2025 from 9:00 pm to 11:59 pm at the F1 racetrack area in front of My Dinh National Stadium.
