The annual Me Linh Flower Festival celebrates the beauty of flowers and pays tribute to the artisans behind the flower-growing villages on the outskirts of Hanoi, adding to the tourist experience of the capital city.

The 2024 Me Linh Flower Festival was officially opened on the evening of December 26 at the Me Linh District administrative center square. This is the second year of the festival with the theme "Me Linh shines bright with flowers".

The Me Linh Flower Festival kicks off on the evening of December 26 with a breathtaking art performance.

As the largest flower festival in northern Vietnam, this four-day cultural extravaganza (December 26-29) promises an unforgettable experience for locals and tourists alike.

According to Nguyen Thanh Liem, Party Secretary of Me Linh District, the success of last year's festival, which brought in nearly 100,000 visitors, has paved the way for an even more spectacular event this year. Covering an area of nearly 10,000 square meters, the festival features 10 vibrant flower modules and eight stunning flower arrangements crafted by local artisans. The entire space is illuminated with lighting technology, transforming it into a modern yet poetic floral park that will enchant all who visit.

Hanoi Party Secretary Bui Thi Minh Hoai and officials attended the Me Linh Flower Festival.

"Visitors will have the opportunity to see flowers in full bloom, marvel at the intricate artwork of skilled artisans, and immerse themselves in the vibrant creativity and deep connection to nature that defines Me Linh. This land rich in vitality continues to flourish as a symbol of growth and progress," he added.

In conjunction with the Me Linh Flower Festival, the "Me Linh Trade Promotion, Tourism and Culture Program" is running simultaneously, with 100 commercial booths showcasing local specialties from 30 provinces, cities and craft villages across the country.

The Me Linh Flower Festival has become an important cultural, tourism and trade event, helping to promote the region's agricultural products and bolster local livelihoods. With its unique charm, it also positions Me Linh as an emerging tourist destination, reflecting the district's ambition for innovation and growth in line with Vietnam's national progress.
