Vietnam’s sporting delegation ranked third with 73 gold, 86 silver and 86 bronze, surpassing its set target of 70 gold medals.
Thailand secured its top place in the Games’ medal tally (107 golds), while the host Myanmar was placed second (85 golds).
The closing ceremony at Wunna Theikdi stadium on the evening of December 22 deeply impressed the athletes and visitors with a firework display, parade, and music and dance performances in praise of friendship, cooperation and solidarity among regional countries.
The 28th SEA Games will take place in Singapore.
