The ministry’s working team made the announcement on March 28, citingdiscoveries from observation stations of the Institute for Nuclear Science and Technology under the Vietnam Atomic Energy Commission.
On the same day, Japanese expert Satoru Toshimitsu, Chief Representative of the Office of the Japan Atomic Industrial Forum (JAIF) in Vietnam , had a working session with Le Dinh Tien Deputy Minister of Science and Technology.
During the meeting, Satoru said that with assistance from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and other countries, Japan can control and minimise the consequences of nuclear problems at the Fukushima power plant No. 1.
He said the situation would only become worse if more earthquakes and tsunami hit the plant site.
