Under the auspices of the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade in cooperation with the Quoc Oai District People's Committee, the exhibition features 60 booths showcasing OCOP products and traditional handicrafts from local enterprises, rural industrial facilities, and artisans.
This event is the fourth in a series aimed at promoting OCOP products and traditional trades related to tourism, as part of the 2024 plan to develop a creative design center to market and sell these products throughout Hanoi.
The initiative aims to foster connections between artisans, skilled workers, and young designers, encouraging entrepreneurship while enhancing local cultural strengths and economic opportunities for villagers.
In 2024, the Hanoi People's Committee tasked the Department of Industry and Trade to oversee the recognition of creative design centers for marketing and selling OCOP products and traditional crafts at the commune level throughout the city. Tan Hoa Commune in Quoc Oai District is one of six places proposed for this recognition in 2024.
Speaking at the event's opening ceremony on November 7, Nguyen Dinh Thang, Deputy Director of Hanoi's Department of Industry and Trade, said Quoc Oai currently has 22 artisans recognized by the State, including one Meritorious Artisan awarded by the President and 21 others honored at the city level. In addition, hundreds of skilled craftsmen in the district have received various awards.
"We hope that this Creative Design Center, once recognized, will be a model for replication throughout the city, making it a hub for networking and a showcase for traditional products. Moreover, it will serve as a motivation to develop more Creative Design Centers in the district," he said.
