Promoting Victoria – Hanoi comprehensive cooperation relations
On July 2, the leaders delegation of Hanoi People`s Committee led by Chairman Nguyen Duc Chung finished the working visit to Australia`s Victoria state, which was to promote multifaceted cooperation between Hanoi and Victoria.
The delegation of the municipal People`s Committee led by Chairman Nguyen Duc Chung ended the successful trip to Australia`s Victoria state from June 30 to July 2.
During the visit to Victoria state, from July 1-2, the Hanoi’s leaders delegation had working meetings to exchange experiences and strengthen cooperation with Telstra Telecommunications Group, Shimbune University of Technology, the Council of Melbourne city and the training Centre for senior officials of the Australia-New Zealand government (ANZOG).
Telstra Telecommunications group is the Australian largest company and one of the ten largest telecommunications group in the world. Here, the delegation visited the Telstra Centre for Global operator (GOC). The GOC center Director introduced its functionality, network management capabilities and incidents solvement on a global scale, especially in network security.
The GOC said that the center is ready to assist Hanoi capital in the design consulting and commissioning for such a center in the city, and help train high-quality human resources appropriate to maintain this center’s operation.
Swinburne Technology University that has been highly regarded experiences in education, is one of the world's top 100 institutions for training civil engineers.
Discussing on cooperation between Hanoi and Swinburne Technology University in the time ahead, the two sides agreed on the specific directions of cooperation, including the establishment of the international department at the University of the Capital completely under the model of training and management of Swinburne school, where students will be granted in accordance with the international standards of the school.
Working with Melbourne City Council, the leaders of the two cities discussed to exchange experiences in the modern urban management.
At the working day with the training Centre for senior officials of the Australia-New Zealand government (ANZOG), a seminar on training high-level human resources for Hanoi city was also organised.
During the meeting, ANZOG Rector Gary Banks affirmed that the ANZOG is willing to coordinate with Hanoi city in consulting an appropriate training programme for the city’s senior officials as well as implementing the plans to develop high quality human resources of Hanoi in the coming time.
On July 2, the Hanoi’s delegation paid visits to the Geelong Grammar school and the management and organization of the Australian federal election in Victoria state, ending its working visit to Australia.
With these significant results, the trip of Hanoi leaders delegation to Victoria state contributed to promote comprehensive cooperation between Hanoi and Victoria, particularly in the fields of urban construction management, information technology application, high- quality human resources development, and promotion of culture, tourism and organizing of major international sports tournaments.
